The Impact of Partnership and Donor Support

See the impact your generosity has on our local community

The transformational difference Uckfield College has made to the lives of our students has been made possible, in part, by the support of our donors.

Your support has made a real and tangible impact on our students and our community. Thank you.

Donors support our students by:

• Providing means-tested bursary funding so our students can make the most of opportunities and do not have their education impacted by needing to work a demanding part-time job to contribute to family finances;
• Providing funding to allow our students to leave Sussex - for the first time - to attend residential trips and university visits;
• Supporting additional teaching posts, to reduce class sizes and increase the amount of teaching time we can offer;
• Supporting the area of greatest need, so we can direct our support nimbly to the area that needs it more.

Partner Spotlight: Red Butler

Over the past two years, Red Butler Music School has established itself as an indispensable cornerstone of our College community. By significantly broadening our musical access, they have transformed our music department into a vibrant learning hub that now provides over 12 hours of musical engagement per day. Every evening and throughout the school holidays, the Red Butler team welcomes young people from both local primary and secondary schools to participate in instrumental lessons, band workshops, and collaborative projects. Beyond their instructional role, they collaborate on our flagship events, delivering real-world, high-quality gigging experiences to our student bands and deploy skilled instructors to provide targeted, specialised interventions for individual students and selected groups. Their dedication and expertise continue to enrich our school culture and nurture the creative talents of our young musicians.

Local charity spotlight

We are also incredibly grateful to the amazing charity, Beautiful Noise.  Beautiful Noise is a charity established in 2023 and based in Sussex that aims to enrich the lives of young people through the transformative power of music. They support young people affected by economic disadvantage and those with special educational needs and disabilities.Most recently Beautiful Noise facilitated our Intergenerational Opera project, highly valuable one-to-one sessions, and the Boys Drumming social regulation project.

Future Sounds is also an amazing charity, and is dedicated to transforming the lives of young people across Sussex through the power of music. They believe that music education has the ability to inspire creativity, strengthen communities and unlock the benefits of self-expression. By fostering a love of music in young people, they aim to enrich lives and open up new pathways for personal and collective growth, while building a vibrant cultural future for our region.
