PTA

Uckfield College PTA is a group of parents and staff that raises funds to provide enhancements for the college. These are extras that we offer over and above those already provided by statutory funds.

The PTA raises funds in many different ways, but whatever the event, it is always fun, enjoyable and social. We meet approximately once a term, in the boardroom from 7.30pm until about 8.45pm.

We provide bars at many of the college’s events, for example at the Spring and Summer Concerts, Theatre productions in the Dance/Drama Theatre and Quiz Nights. We have supported students who wish to raise funds for charities close to their heart and we offer mince pies and mulled wine, tea and coffee after the Carol Service

Over the past years we have focussed on raising money to contribute to the new sports courts in the centre of the college campus. These are used by all students during PE lessons and by many students during breaks and lunchtimes. In September 2021 we gave £15,000 to the college as a significant contribution to the costs of building the sports courts.

We have also recently raised funds to provide outdoor furniture for students to use during social times - seating, benches, tables, basketball hoops, table tennis tables etc. - which again benefits all college students. We have also provided smaller amounts for books and rewards.

The PTA is fun, friendly and worthwhile: our projects have a definite impact on school life. You can involve yourself as much or as little as you like. It is also a great way to engage with your child’s education. If you would like to join us, you are most welcome at any of the scheduled meetings throughout the year and/or ask the school to pass on your email address to us so that you are up to date with current fundraising events.
