Student Destinations

The future success of every Uckfield College student is our priority. After GCSEs the vast majority of Uckfield College students choose to continue their full-time studies with us; taking up their place in our very successful sixth form. [Sixth form prospectus]

Our wide curriculum offer combined with our excellent pastoral care system means that we are the best choice for most students considering their next steps at the end of year 11.

We provide the careers information needed by every student to support them to choose their next steps. Our in-house careers service provides a full, personal support package for the few Year 11 students whose career pathways are best supported via an apprenticeship, or a course provided at a specialist college.

It's very important to us that when students leave our Sixth Form they have a plan for their future, be that a place at university, a job or an apprenticeship. Whatever the preference, each student receives individual advice and guidance from the experienced Sixth Form team to help them make the best decisions.

STUDENT DESTINATIONS SUMMER 2023

Our Year 13 students rose to the challenge of sitting their first external exams (after receiving teacher assessed grades for their GCSEs during the pandemic) to achieve an excellent set of results. The students progressed onto a wide variety of destinations, including university courses, apprenticeships, jobs and FE colleges. The majority of our students chose to go into Higher Education - with 66% of our Year 13 students progressing to university. Students from Uckfield College were very successful in obtaining their first choice of university (80%) and of those going to university, 32% secured places at the prestigious Russell Group universities.
