UC PTA is a group of parents and teachers/support staff that raises funds to provide enhancements for the college. These are extras that we offer over and above those already provided by statutory funds.
The PTA raises funds in many different ways, but whatever the event, it is always fun, enjoyable and social. We meet approximately once a term, in the boardroom from 7.30pm until about 8.45pm.
We provide bars at many of the college’s events, for example; Spring and Summer Concerts, Theatre productions in the Pamphilon Theatre, Quiz Nights; we have supported students who wish to raise funds for charities close to their heart; we offer mince pies and mulled wine, tea and coffee after the Carol Service and not forgetting our annual highlight, the Christmas Fayre, ably organised and coordinated by Sarah Carlisle.
Over the past year to date we have been able to help the college with funds for the Year Group Awards, Celebration Evenings, Buzz Books, World Book Day, Sports Kit for the School Team and a technology department project at Wilderness Woods. We are currently saving funds towards the new sports courts (when the new build is complete).
The PTA is fun, friendly and worthwhile: our projects have a definite impact on school life. You can involve yourself as much or as little as you like. It is also a great way to engage yourself in your child’s education. If you would like to join us, you are most welcome at any of the scheduled meetings throughout the year and/or ask the school to pass on your email address to us so that you are up to date with current fundraising events.
