GCSE Results 2022
There was much joy and pride as students at Uckfield College opened their GCSE results. The long wait was over and the happiness the students felt as they realised that their hard work had paid off was immense. Joining in their celebration were many parents and staff who had supported them on their first five years of secondary school. Once again, students at Uckfield College responded to the challenge of their GCSEs and performed exceptionally well.
Our students achieved: 9-5 English and Maths = 68% and the 9-4 (previously A*-C) English and Maths = 83%.
Attainment 8 (how well each student has done in their best 8 GCSE subjects) = 57.7.
Hugh Hennebry, Principal, said, "We are thrilled and delighted for our year 11 students and the fantastic results they have achieved this year. There are so many stories to celebrate and to see so many happy faces was a pure delight. Our students showed great determination to succeed and huge resilience to overcome any challenges they faced. They developed these qualities with the support and guidance from staff and parents and these outstanding results are a reflection of the great team around every child at Uckfield College. We wish our students every success with the next exciting chapter of their lives."
Sara Marshallsay, Head of School, added, “We are all so proud and delighted for our Year 11 students that they have achieved such fantastic results this year, especially after all the uncertainty and disruptions of Covid. Many congratulations to all of the students, and also to their teachers and parents/carers who have supported them along the way.”
Sarah Bamford, Deputy Principal, commented, “I am delighted that the hard work and commitment of our students throughout the entire year has led to their excellent results. So many students have made such phenomenal progress at Uckfield College, and despite missing a chunk of face to face schooling have shown themselves resolute in their determination to do well. These results are also testament to the support that every child receives from the whole staff team at Uckfield College and to their parents who have supported them. It is fantastic that we will see so many of them back to achieve further success in our Sixth Form and wish all our graduates the best in the next part of their learning journey.”
