Welcome

Welcome

We are a highly successful 6th Form, consistently achieving excellent results and with a very high proportion of our students progressing to their first choice university.

Sixth Form Open Evening at Uckfield College

Our most recent Opening Evening was on Wednesday 8th November 2023 from 5.30pm to 8pm.  Details for 2024 will be released nearer the time.

Over many years our exceptional results consistently show we are one of the best schools in the country.

You are warmly invited to visit our Sixth Form College when you can find out about the extensive range of courses and opportunities available to our 6th Form Students.

During the evening there will be presentations and set talks from representatives of each subject, who will give you guidance and information concerning the variety of courses on offer (including new courses: Digital Media and Criminology).  In order to see a talk on each of their subject choices, parents and students will need to attend the whole event from 5.30pm to 8.00pm.

Your future starts here!

Welcome from Gemma Fassam- Head of Sixth FormGemma Fassam

Welcome to a new and exciting chapter in your life with the beginning of a great new experience which will help you discover more about who you are and what you can achieve as a unique, talented person. The next stage of your education will transform your life.  You will want to take on new challenges and, here at Uckfield, we have outstanding opportunities to learn and develop as an individual.

As the largest Sixth form college in the local area, we have broad provision at Key Stage 5, including a wide range of A-level and BTEC Level 2 and 3 choices. Students are guided to make appropriate choices based on their performance at GCSE and in discussion with members of the Sixth Form leadership team. Teaching time allocated to each subject is either four or five  lessons per week for A-level and BTEC subjects.  Students are also allocated discrete study support time on their timetables, which takes place in our newly refurbished Sixth Form Study Area.  This is silent time for individual work and supports students in making the transition from Key Stage 4 to Key Stage 5 effectively.

We are dedicated to giving you inspirational teachers and supportive mentors

Our 6th Form team will equip you to be the best you can be by: helping you to achieve your best possible results; enabling your leadership to develop; giving you opportunities to have fun and grow as an individual; providing excellent careers guidance and by advising you on university and job applications.

We are very proud of the broad and flexible curriculum we offer and we are even more proud of our 6th Form students.

They are happy and successful because they:

  • have a thirst for knowledge, skills and understanding
  • are active learners
  • work hard
  • are independent thinkers
  • lead by example
  • take part in so many opportunities
  • contribute to student life and give generously to the community
  • are reliable, punctual and have excellent attendance

We look forward to welcoming you to our 6th Form and working with you to realise your potential.
